Classes with Daniel Canuti

After the interested on knowing Tango had done the first classes, a normal class uses to be used a part of it, to learn to dance as in the social places, on which the main thing is to take care about our movements, nices and prudents, in armony with the music - see activities as DJ-, and in this way to enjoy the Tango, taking car of our partner and the others dancers, respecting them, their spaces and the music, managing the space on the dance floor correctly.
This way to dance, to embrace each other, to move, uses to be named Milonguero, or Salón, or Apilado or de Abrazo Cerrado, etc, even for some teachers and people near to Tango, these terms can be in contradiction and for some others no. The book titled Tango Danza Glossary is published and is about the terminology in this dance and clarify all the terms concerning Tango.
A part of the class is used also to learn what is known as Figuras, which are in fact, the combinations of the differents elements and steps we have in tango. In short words, how this dance works, which is its mechanic and how it is structured this Tango that uses to be called Abierto or so allowing us create more and more sequences.
In any case, in a Tango class, what men and women learn is different, except when they want (or fall into) choreografied movements for show and exhibitions. Men needs to know how this dance works exactly, and need to be able to preview any situation and what to do with the body and the four legs (the leader must know and manage with his legs and with his partner´s legs). The follower, must know to walk properly, to keep good balance and equilibrium, to know to wait and to interpretate the invitations of the man to the following movements.
In some classes, when there is the chance and the interest I use to show main parts from the videos I have, regarding Tango dance, dancers, history, singers, orquestras, musicians, poets, etc.

Tango video-lecture and Tango DJ

Furthermore, I have held several lectures about tango, inc. a 80 minutes video (extracted from my video collection of over 100 hours), which shows a summary of the history of tango (dance, orchestras, singers, etc.) and was supported during the film by my explanations.
When is required, is a pleasure for me to play music in milongas or balls, and why not in some house just for the pleasure to listen Tango, and a wine.
Just as a curiosity, I can play also with music from the Vinyl LP´s (33 rpm). I have more than 150 LP´s from my family. For some curious tango lovers, the sound and too see the covers can be interested.

Also I like to present some special Tanda which I dedicate to same tango, orchestra or singer. I use to write some comments about which are translated into the required language and offered as a simple photocopy to the ones that are interested.
